Jaguar Women in Technology
Thursday, 02 May 2013 13:33
ncwit logo J-WIT (Jaguar Women in Technology) has been awarded a Student Seed Fund grant of $750 from NCWIT (National Center for Women & Technology) and Symantec.
This grant will be used to promote women in computing at the University of South Alabama by revitalizing the J-WIT organization (formerly ACM-W) and increasing our current membership. We plan on jump starting the 2013 academic year by hosting our 1st Annual J-WIT Back to School Luncheon. This event will bring together female faculty members, industry partners, alumni, and students for a social event to build mentoring and networking opportunities while promoting the J-WIT organization. Additionally, we plan to further promote the J-WIT by sponsoring a series of technology workshops for students that will take place over the course of the fall semester.
