Welcome to the homepage of
Dr. Todd Andel at the University of South Alabama. I joined the
faculty in the School of Computing in 2012. I was previously an Assistant
Professor at the Air Force Institute of Technology from 2007 to 2012.

Research Interests
I
am currently engaged in various projects focused on embedded systems
protection, network security protocol analysis, modeling and
simulation, active cyber defenses, electronic voting, and information
assurance.
CFITS
I
am actively involved with the USA Center for Forensics, Information
Technology, and Security.
The System Protection and
Exploitation Research (SPERG)
group is focused on improving techniques and theory related to
malware detection and analysis, obfuscation and deobfuscation,
embedded systems protection, applying formal methods and analytic
frameworks for reverse engineering, and experimenting with practical
techniques for program protection.
The group conducts weekly meetings to review publications related to
malware analysis and program protection
